How do I create an account?

A: Go to Zoxsy.com and select three genre's under the title "Get started" and click continue. When prompted, enter your name, email address, password, and zip code. You'll get a confirmation email a few moments after you click join Zoxsy. Once you've clicked the confirmation link on that email, you can login to your new account.

I didn't get a confirmation email.

A: Your confimation email should take just a few moments to arrive. If you don't get email within a few minutes, check your junk mail folder or any other spam filters. If you still can't find it, please email us at help@zoxsy.com with your username and we will manually validate your account.

I got an error when I clicked the link in my confirmation email.

A: If you're having any problems validating your account through the link in your confirmation email please email us at help@zoxsy.com with your username and we will manually validate your account.

How do I keep my email and contact information private?

A: The email address you use as your login is always kept private. If you don’t want to share your contact information with other Zoxsy members, just leave those fields blank on the “my page.”

How do I change my password, notification settings, and other account information?

A: Click the “Edit Preferences” link in the top left corner of the screen.

Can I change my user name?

A: Yes, just go to the edit preferences page by clicking the link in the top left corner of your “my page” and change your email address. The new email address will be your new login user name.

How do I upload a song?

A: Go to “my page” and click the link “upload a song” directly below the “I am a, I need a” section.

My song won't upload or play properly.

A: If you can't upload your song or it won't play after you've uploaded it, please make sure your song is in the MP3 format with a recommended bit rate of 128. If you're still having problems please email us your song so we can troubleshoot the error at help@zoxsy.com

Can other people download my music?

A: No, music can only be streamed.

Can I sell my music on Zoxsy?

A: Not at this time, but you can add a link or mention where to buy your music in your bio.

Can I upload a new version of the same song without losing my rating?

A: No. When you upload a new song the old feedback and ratings wouldn't be relevant to it anymore. We recommend leaving your old versions online and uploading the new version for comparison.

What is a button ending?

A: A button ending is when a song has a distint end rather than a slow fade out. Many music supervisors are looking for songs that are a certain length with a button ending and if your song is longer than what then need, they want to know if you can edit your song to a specific length with a button ending rather than just fading it out.

What is “The List”?

A: The List is a place where people can find products and services they need. It is also a place to create new entries for products or services you have used. You can talk about your personal experience here, too. Maybe someone took advantage of you and you want to keep other people from falling for it. Maybe you’ve found the best studio mic and it only costs $87. Make an entry for it, rate it, and write a review. In time The List could become the largest database of products and services related to recording and songwriting in the world!

What is Zoxsy Matchmaker?

A: Zoxsy matchmaker looks at what you've said you need and what you've said you would like to provide in the I am/I need section of your page. You will see your matches when you enter the “People” page. There are other secret ingredients we use to make these matches as tasty as possible that might take into account your background, preferences, etc. If your needs or abilities change, just update your profile on your “my page”.

How do I become a Zoxsy Rockstar

A:There are several ways to become a Zoxsy Rockstar. Periodically we’ll run a promotion to select new Rockstars from among the up and coming Zoxsy population. The numbers on the charts tell us who’s consistently putting out great music. The hunt is always on for great artists and songwriters who might be flying below the radar. Whenever one of these catches our eye, we’ll put a spotlight on them.

What is “loot”?

A: When people like your song they can give you up to four pieces of pie depending on how tasty they think your song is. You collect all the pie you’re given in your Loot Box which makes you feel good inside - kind of like the feeling you get when you take a bite of a really great piece of pie. The average pie rating is also important because it tells you (and important people wearing suits) how good everyone thinks your song is, even if your song doesn’t have a large number of ratings.

People may also decide to leave you a comment or rate a product in The List. When they do, you and other Zoxsy members can give the author a cherry if you think it was a helpful comment. Everyone get’s to keep all the cherry they get too - which is cool.

If you think Zoxsy is awesome and invite a friend to join, you get a highly coveted cupcake. These have been known to make Zoxsy members more attractive to the opposite sex and you can keep them forever. Where else can you find an offer like that?

What is a tribe and how do I join one?

A: Tribes are small geographic areas that you are placed in based on what zip code you give us. Regions are larger areas made up of two or more tribes. Zoxsy Matchmaker gives preference to your tribe and region when it matches members to each other. The idea is that two people will get more out of a relationship if they are close to each other.
